Nice park but no hiking or biking trails. But if you’re just looking to chill and grill it will work out nicely
Beautiful place. Great shady camp sites. Deer roam around peacefully. Sandy beach for swimming. Playground for kids. I love it there. I have lived at Lake Whitney most of my life and McCowen Valley is my favorite park.
My favorite park for swimming with children on Lake Whitney! Sandy beaches and a gorgeous view of bluffs and there's even a shaded playground.
Developed lakeside campground, operated by the Corps of Engineers, located on the east side of Lake Whitney northeast of the town of Whitney. Multiple camping areas, lakeside picnic areas, large multi-lane boat ramp, and screened shelters. The park also contains a large day-use area separate from the campgrounds, with parking and picnic sites along the shore of the lake and a large swimming area.
