Also if you are drinking please keep in mind jumping / swimming can be hazardous, as well as trying to make it back down the trail to the car.
Lake Whitney was awesome. It was my 10 wedding anniversary and we had so much fun. Met some really nice campers there. We fished, swim, sight see. Found fossils. They had nice bathrooms with showers. And the campsites were clean. I recommend this place for anyone who needs to reduce stress.
Super fun! Pretty clean rocky beach for the kids to play at. Water was pretty clean.....the area we were at seemed to have a strong smell that would come off the water when the wind blew toward shore....kinda gross at times. Did the cliff jumping and had a blast! Taking the trail from the parking lot was easy, but a bit of a walk if you have lil kids.
really great state park. Clean restrooms and well maintained trails. Also, had to complain about hornetts nest at our camp site and they had someone come straight over and removed it. The lady's in the front office were very sweet and helpful. I would visit this park again
Really enjoyed the State Park. As usual here in Texas, it was well kept and very clean. Very dark at night, with excellent places to setup your telescope to explore the night sky. Milky Way is very visible on typical nights. Would have been five stars but we never did come across much of a playground area near the camping areas. We will take our RV here often as it is only a 90 minute drive.
Had a awesome weekend here with some friends and coworkers. Lots of oak trees and some really cool hiking trails. Clean bathrooms and manicured fields with pathways to the super clean bathrooms. The lake is not such a great place to fish but we still tried. We will come back.
