Beautiful park. Favoritr view in our 3000 miles so far.

It's beautiful, clean, friendly people at the gate and deer is awesome to watch. We love camping here. Even good to have weddings.

Large developed Corps of Engineers parks immediately east of the dam on TX 22 west of the town of Whitney. The most highly developed public area on the lake, Lofers Bend is composed of two distinct areas, East and West, each of which includes a mix of tent and electrical campsites, restrooms, showers, water, a boat ramp, a swimming area, and group facilities. The East area also includes a marina and store. Large day-use area with picnic areas and swimming beaches. Excellent facilities and scenery, with many ways to reach the water. Easy access to the area below the dam, a popular spot for fishing and launching canoes onto the Brazos.

I camp at West side. Great place quiet and clean. Only down is that you have to drive to day use area for swimming also when taking bath the water was extremly hot. Great staff.

Lake Whitney will always hold a special place in my memory. Swimming around the State Park area with goggles on looking for fishing lures stuck to trees under water. The cliffs on that one side of lake and that if you jump in you may not get back up on the bank very easily. And fishing or jumping off of the rocks at lofers Bend. And the tail water that comes off of the Dam are great especially when the water is running there may even still be a canoe Outfitter but all around just a great lake to visit and not that far from the Dallas Metroplex.
